The Phangan Quest
Terms of Use
Last updated 19 September 2026 · Published by MAD Global LLC
These terms apply to The Phangan Quest — a digital adventure game you play on your own phone — and to this website, phanganquest.com. Please read them before you buy. They are written in plain English on purpose: you should be able to understand what you are getting while standing in the sun with one bar of battery.
1. Who is who
MAD Global LLC makes and publishes the game. We are a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, USA, at 30 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean MAD Global LLC.
Creem — Armitage Labs OÜ is the seller. Creem (registry code 16977866, Rotermanni 14, Tallinn 10111, Estonia) is the merchant of record and our contractual reseller. That means Creem executes the sale in their own name, takes your payment, handles tax, issues your receipt and processes refunds. Creem is the company named on your receipt.
So there are two agreements: Creem's Buyer Terms govern the sale, and these Terms of Use govern the game itself.
Who to contact for what
- The game, your access code, how something works, anything that has gone wrong while playing, a place you want reviewed or removed: support@phanganquest.com.
- Payment, your receipt or invoice, tax, a card problem, or the mechanics of a refund: Creem, using the contact details on your receipt and quoting your order number or the email address you used for the order. You can also write to us and we will help you sort it out.
Support is by email only. We aim to reply within 2 business days. There is no live support while you play — the game never needs a reply from us to continue. We are not an emergency service and we do not monitor messages in real time.
2. What you are buying and how you get it
When you buy, you receive a single-use access code. The game is delivered electronically and automatically. There is nothing to install.
The story unfolds on your own phone, in text and audio. You pay once, at checkout, at the price shown there. One purchase is one playthrough.
You reach the end of the story by playing it. The game counts as fully delivered once its final chapter has been sent to you.
3. Where you play
The game is designed around real, publicly visitable places on Koh Phangan, Thailand — viewpoints, beaches, villages, temples. You do not have to be there. Every task can be answered from anywhere, and any answer moves the story forward, so you can play the whole thing from a balcony, a café, another island or another continent, and you can skip anything that is closed, unsafe or uncomfortable without losing the story.
Before you set out anywhere, please read section 10: we write about these places from public sources and we do not check them on the ground.
4. What is not part of the product
You are buying a digital game, and nothing else. The following are not provided, in any form:
- a guide, host or on-site staff; a meeting point; anyone who meets, accompanies or supervises you
- transport of any kind
- tickets, entrance fees, bookings or reservations
- meals, drinks, accommodation or equipment
- travel, accident or medical insurance
We have no office or service point on Koh Phangan and provide no in-person service of any kind. We do not install, leave or place any physical object at any location.
Anything you pay for along the way — food, transport, entrance fees — you arrange and pay for yourself, directly with whoever provides it. Opening hours, access rules and any fees are set by each place, not by us. Temple donations are voluntary and go directly to the temple.
5. Your access code
Your code is single-use and personal to you. It unlocks one playthrough.
- Please do not resell, auction, rent or publish your code. Apart from the refund described in section 12, it cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Your code is for your own play. Please do not use it to run a paid or unpaid event, a group activity you charge for, or any commercial offering of your own.
- If we see clear evidence that a code has been published, resold or used by several people at once, we will email you first, tell you what we have seen and give you a fair chance to reply before we do anything. If we then deactivate the code, we will tell you why, and you can challenge it at support@phanganquest.com. If we deactivate a code and you show us we got it wrong, we will put it right: we reactivate it or refund you — your choice.
6. You play independently, and you can skip anything
Nobody is waiting for your answer. You decide when to start, when to pause, when to continue and when to stop. There is no timer, no ranking and no reward for speed.
We do store your answers and your progress so that your game can carry on where you left off — our Privacy Notice explains what we hold and why.
Any answer moves the story forward — the game is written so that being wrong, being unsure or being somewhere else entirely still leads to the next chapter. If a task does not suit you, skip it. The story continues either way.
7. Getting around and staying safe
This part matters more than anything else on this page.
Never read, listen to or answer the game while riding or driving. Park somewhere safe first. The story waits.
If you ride a motorbike in Thailand: you need a licence that covers motorcycles and is valid there, and a helmet — required by law, for passengers too. Never ride after drinking. Many travel insurance policies will not pay out if you were riding without a valid licence or a helmet. The game includes no insurance of any kind, and we strongly recommend travel insurance that covers what you actually do. Roads on Koh Phangan are steep in places.
Daylight is recommended. Check the weather before you set out. If it turns, stop and continue another day.
No task requires you to swim, climb, enter water, leave a marked path, stand near an edge, step into a road, enter a private, closed or restricted area, or drink alcohol. Do not feed, touch or approach monkeys or other animals. No drones.
Local rules always come first. If a sign, a staff member, a monk or an official says something different from the game, follow them and skip the task.
Emergency numbers in Thailand: 1669 (medical), 1155 (tourist police, English-speaking), 191 (police).
8. Respect for places and people
Temples are active places of worship. Cover shoulders and knees, take your shoes off where required, keep your voice down, and never touch or climb on statues, shrines or sacred objects. Do not photograph people — especially monks and children — without their permission.
Leave every place as you found it: take nothing, leave nothing.
9. Photos you choose to send
Some tasks invite you to send a photo of a place or an object. Sending a photo is always optional, and any reply moves the game forward. Photo tasks never ask for people, and there are no photo tasks at temples.
The rule for anything you send: you must not send a photo that shows an identifiable person — including any child — or anything unlawful. We may remove any photo that breaks this rule.
We use the photos you send only to run your game. We will never publish a photo of yours without asking you separately and clearly first, and you can withdraw that permission at any time. How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Notice.
10. Places change, and we do not inspect them on site
The places, routes and story were researched from publicly available online sources and written with the help of AI tools. We do not inspect locations on site.
That means details can be out of date. A path can be closed, a shop can be gone, a rule can have changed, a fee can be new. If something does not match what the game says, trust what is in front of you, skip the task, and — if you have a moment — tell us at support@phanganquest.com so we can fix it for the next player.
If you are responsible for a place that appears in the game and you want it changed or removed, write to support@phanganquest.com. We will review it and act promptly.
11. What you need to play
You play on your own phone, in text and audio. There is nothing to install.
12. Refunds and changing your mind
Here is the short version; the full version is on our Refund Policy page.
- Full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason, as long as the final chapter of the game has not yet been delivered to you — even if you have already started playing. This is our own promise to every buyer, wherever you live.
- It sits on top of the law, it does not replace it. Depending on where you live, the law may give you a right to cancel a purchase like this, and may give you more than our promise does. Nothing here asks you to give that up, and where the law gives you more, the law wins.
- If you unlock your code within 14 days of purchase, the unlock screen asks you to confirm that you want the game to start now, and that your right to cancel ends once the game has been fully delivered. We email you a copy of that confirmation before the game starts. Our own 14-day promise above keeps running until the final chapter has been sent to you.
- To cancel: email support@phanganquest.com, or contact Creem — the seller named on your receipt — with your order number or the email address you used for the order. Any clear statement is enough. A model cancellation form is provided on the Refund Policy page if you prefer to use one.
- Refunds are paid by Creem to your original payment method within 14 days of your request, and the access code is deactivated.
- If a fault on our side stops you playing and we cannot fix it within 2 business days, we will either extend your code or refund you — your choice.
13. If something is wrong with the game
We stand behind the game: it should match how it is described here and on our website, and it should work.
If it does not, write to support@phanganquest.com. Tell us what happened and we will fix it, or sort out a refund with Creem for you. You can also go straight to Creem, the seller named on your receipt. You never have to chase both of us.
Wherever you live, you keep the mandatory consumer protections of your home country. Nothing in these terms removes, limits or replaces them. Where anything here conflicts with a right you cannot give up, your right wins.
14. Our responsibility
We are responsible for the game itself: that it is as described, that it has been prepared with reasonable care, and that it is delivered to you.
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
Beyond that, please understand what we do not control. We do not control traffic, road conditions, the weather, animals, or the condition, opening hours, access rules, fees or behaviour of any place that appears in the game. You decide where to go, how to get there and what to do when you arrive, and you remain responsible for your own choices and for anyone you are responsible for.
We are not responsible for business losses such as lost profit, lost revenue or lost business opportunity.
15. There is nothing to win
There are no prizes, prize draws, cash, rewards or rankings of any kind. The reward is the day itself.
16. Age
You must be 18 or older — or the local age of majority, if that is higher where you are — to buy a code or to unlock one. Under-18s may play only together with a parent, guardian or other responsible adult who stays with them throughout.
17. The game and the website
The Phangan Quest — its story, text, audio, images, design and code — and this website belong to MAD Global LLC.
Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable permission to play the game once, for your own enjoyment. It does not transfer any ownership. Please do not copy, record, republish, translate, adapt, resell or share the content publicly, or use it as the basis of your own product, event or offering.
Real place names, brands and third-party materials mentioned in the game belong to their respective owners.
18. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, write to support@phanganquest.com. Tell us what happened, what you expected, and your order number or the email address you used. We aim to reply within 2 business days, and we will tell you what we can do about it.
If your complaint is about payment, your receipt or the processing of a refund, you can also contact Creem directly as the seller. Either way, you are welcome to start with us.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the game develops. Every version is numbered and dated.
The version in force on the day you bought applies to your purchase. A later change does not take anything away from what you bought.
20. Your consumer protections and where you can bring a claim
Wherever you live, you keep the mandatory consumer protections of your home country. Nothing in these terms removes them, and nothing here asks you to give them up.
If we cannot sort a problem out between us, you can bring a claim in the courts of your home country. We impose no arbitration requirement, and we do not ask you to give up your right to take part in a collective or group claim. Because Creem is the seller, Creem's Buyer Terms also apply to the sale itself — please read them before you buy. If anything in them conflicts with this page in a way that leaves you worse off, tell us and we will sort it out with you.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
